Post and Posters

In this day and age where email and sms-ing is are a daily habit, the lost art of receiving mail by post (aka: the old fashioned snail mail) is such a refreshing change. Usually, the only stuff i receive via snail mail are bills and junk mail. These hardly merit a smile but when the security guard at the office calls out my name and says "may cd ka na naman,," i could hardly contain my glee as i hop, skip, and attempt to run towards his station to grab my parcel. I hardly get that feeling nowadays since i rarely order from yesasia anymore ( i get my stuff at my room now). come to think of it, I did get that giddy feeling a couple of weeks ago when i won my Rich CD from Pops in Seoul. Winning a cd on Pops is getting harder, with only 3 people now getting the chance to have their requests read. With that in mind, there is nothing else to look forward to. Until my friend Katie gave me a reason to keep pestering our guard if the post office sent me something. You see, Katie is based in Seoul and she got to watch Shin Hye Sung's showcase. For those not familiar with the name (read as: mader cherry), Shin Hye Sung is the lead vocal of my fave kpop group, Shinhwa. Feeling really sad and envious of Katie, I had to satisfy myself with her sms on the day of the showcase. Anyway, the day before the showcase, she tells me that she got an extra sungie poster and that she was gonna send it to me!!! waaaaaah!!!! happy happy joy joy!!!! So that's why i've been pestering the guard. And when he finally gave me the package, i was on pins and needles!!! then after what seemed like an eternity, i was finally face to face with the poster.

waaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! he is so friggin cute!!!! makes me want to watch their summer concert all the more. Unfortunately due to financial constraints, Katie will have to be my proxy again. sigh! will just stare at the poster the entire time. :)

Speaking of posters, I was at greenbelt last week when i passed by Video City and saw the poster of Ned Kelly. Since i think Orlando Bloom is soooo hot, I naturally stopped to ogle at his bodaciousness when I suddenly burst out laughing. Can you figure out why?

still can't figure it out? here's a close up:

i know a lot of people think that Heath Ledger is hot but to actually spell his name as Heat is a bit excessive, don't you think? :)

Didn't do much of anything over the weekend. Just vegged out in front of the TV. The team building thingie we had last friday took it's toll on me. I really need to get a life. sheesh!!

masitda!!!!!

After a tiring weekend, I was able to get some R&R last Sunday and yesterday. yes, I didn't go to work yesterday so to all those who missed me on YM, I wasn't on invisible mode. hehe. I was actually working.

Anyway, last Sunday, my family went out for dinner. And because me and my sisters volunteered to pay for half of the bill, we talked my mom and dad into eating at this Korean restaurant we frequented. hehe!! I have been craving for Soft Tofu Soup (Sun Du Bu Chigae) and chapjae the past week.

Of course with all the spicy dishes, it wouldn't have been complete if I didn't have some coke nearby. I was actually hoping that the Shinhwa guys would be at the next table or that they would ask me for our red bean paste or something. I could almost here "Hey Dude" playing in the background. hehe!!

Anyway, needless to say, we were all stuffed.

Yesterday, Ia and marie went to my room with me to buy the a magazine. Lucky for us, Angie stopped by and brought ttobboki that she herself made. It's Korean rice cakes in a chili sauce. the ricecake's texture is kinda like the white bilo bilo you find in ginataang halo-halo only that its sliced. The chili sauce is well..... made with chili and she said she used catsup. At first, I thought I didn't like it. hehe!! but after the 2nd bite, i thought "it wasn't that bad really." Then after the 3rd and 4th bites I thought that it was actually pretty good. :) hehe!! but it was somewhere around the 6th and 7th bite that I suddenly realized that that dish, like most Korean dishes, was hot. hehe!! Angie was laughing at me because she said that she purposely made it NOT hot because she wasn't sure how we'd react. I shudder to think what her definition of hot is.

i'm back!!!!!

ok. the net connection in the office was finally restored (thank god)! usually the speed is like 2kbs faster than dial up but since monday, it was literally ccccrrrrrraaaaawwwwwwllllliiiinnnnnggg. sheesh!! couldn't surf the net nor blog. oh well.....

wheeeeeeee!!!! i got a bunch of DVDs last Saturday!!! I got White Valentine (Jeon Ji Hyun and Park Shin Yang), a movie with Jung Woo Sung, Wet Dreams 2 (it's not bastos ok? Lee Ji Hoon is in it!!), Jenny and Juno (finally I can finish the friggin movie), High schooler got married (Eun Ji won), and Infernal Affairs 1-3 (finally!!!).

Was able to watch Eun Ji Won's movie and I honestly have no idea why the heck he was cast for that role. haha! I never really liked him. I mean i thought he's kinda blah even in the Love Letter and Xman episodes he was in so I was really surprised he got the leading actor role in the movie. He isn't even cute!!! jeez. The movie's kinda blah although it had some of "ick" moments (read as blech!) that caused me to wake up and be revolted. all in all, it's definitely not a movie i would recommend. but i do like his song Owl. so maybe, he shouldn't quit his day job, hehe!

I discovered a new snack shop!! it's called snow craze. it's like ice monster but the major difference is that the shaved ice stays shaved until you finish the entire thing!! it really felt like snow! lol! no more choking on those clumped up pieces of ice!!! hooray!!!!! and did i mention it was korean? i wonder if that had anything to do with my liking it?

still haven't finished bool sae. :( my sister was so into watching the full house VCDs that Liezle gave me. sigh! when will i ever finish it??

Katie told me that she mailed my shin hye sung poster!! woohoo!! i just hope and pray that i get it (since the postal service is highly unreliable) and that it is still in 1 piece.

i think this month until June is gonna be a very busy time for me. First I have this trade fair on Friday, then next week it will be our company's annual team building thingie, then our product launch, then in june another trade fair! gaaaah!!!! i need clones!!!

in dreams

i was trying to think of the last time that i remember that i had a dream and my mind draws up a blank. i don't think i have dreamed (well, remember dreaming, since technically we all dream) for the longest time. it could probably be attributed to the fact that i have the worst short term memory ever. :) But i don't think that's it. I conciously make an effort to try to recall if I did dream every time I wake up but ............. hmmmm...... the last dream that i do recall having had hyesung in it. I recall sitting up from my bed with a smile on my face (and it wasn't a sordid dream, i even told my sisters about it) and almost flew down the stairs to announce to my sisters that "It finally happened!! I had a dream that had Shin Hye Sung in it!" This was very significant to me because I have been obsessing about him for like the longest time and that was the first (hopefully not the last) time that he mad a cameo in my dreams. But for the life of me, I cannot recall what the dream was about (dang short memory). I hafta remember to ask my sister about it. :)

I also had a dream that had Brian Joo in it and it was so weird because we were contestants on Survivor (the reality show). We were on opposing teams but we had that whole "they-have-an-alliance-or-are-they-a-couple" thingie. It felt like I was watching the "romance" on TV. lol!!! :) my sisters cracked up with that one.

oh well. i guess there isn't anything wrong with not remembering all your dreams right (hehe! shinhwa song)? i just thank god that i don't get nightmares or that would really be a problem. :)

What does my music say about me?

i was looking through my CDs (stuff that i removed from my pc when it was reformatted) and i found dozens of mp3s that i forgot i had. Looking at the titles, I realized how my taste for music seemed to swing from one extreme to another. So I decided to pop em into the PC and listen to these tunes. I look back now and recall my kylie minogue phase. I liked her song Love at first sight so much that i researched and downloaded some of her old songs. The result? Hard to find audio of Kylie's performances with Kermit the frog (Especially for you, sounds sappy right, but it isn't! lol!) and dreamy Adam Garcia (the aussie in Koyote Ugly, who was once my "crush of the moment").

I also found that I had Nine Inch Nails' The perfect drug (that had a cool MV), Moby's Bodyrock (the song in the opening creds of Veronica's closet), some songs from the movie Labyrinth (woohoo!!! go David Bowie!), songs from Pat Benatar and Scandal (80s music), Presidents of the USA, Ultra, Kavana, The Xmen cartoons opening theme, The Calling, Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox, Natalie Merchant, some songs from the movie Beetlejuice, Elastica, Fuel, Incubus, Madonna, and the 2 opening theme songs of Felicity. How eclectic!! I wonder if someone found this CD and was asked to analyze the type of person who listened to this hodgepodge of music, what would the description be like? Anyone care to analyze?
