Gasoo encounter #4

I look forward to weekends because I get to sleep in without having to worry about being late for work or whatnot. But last weekend was different. It was like a once in a lifetime thing (and I sincerely hope that I am wrong). So please bear with me if this post is gonna be long and i might ramble a bit here and there.

Last Saturday, Cherry, Tina, and I made plans to have lunch at San Sung because we were all feeling a bit wonky and needed Soon Do Bo in our systems. I picked up the 2 in Oakwood and we started gabbing away, playing catch up with what's been happening to each other. As we passed the Makati Stock Exchange building, I jokingly asked Tina if she wanted me to drop her off at her old office (she has transferred to another building). Anyway, we arrived at San Sung and ordered away the usuals: Dweji Kalbi, Soon Do Bo, Chapjae, and Spicy Squid. Yummy!!!

We head over to Starbucks and separate around 4:30 PM. Cherry and Tina went to Manila to cover an event while my sisters and I went home and contemplated if we were going to push through with our Euro Star plans.

As we were leaving for Euro Star, I received a text message from Tina that made me jump up and down. Someone texted her that Dong Bang Shin Ki was in Manila for a photoshoot. Tina and I made plans to stalk them if we find out any other details about their trip here. After the carnival, my sisters and I met up with Tina, Katrina, Xtine and Kai at Mcdo Greenbelt and exhausted all our contacts to get any info on the group. We were lucky that Jeannie, who was in the US, was able to tell us that there were reports that there would be a shoot at a Makati street and at the Mall of Asia at around 5 AM. With this info, the others decided to stay in Station 168 to kill the time while my sisters and I went home.

At 4:00 AM, Ia nudged me awake and the three of us (Ela decided she wanted to sleep), got ready to leave. Marie and Rhanie, being good samaritans gave me a wake-up call as well. The two of them were on their way to Mall of Asia as I was on my way to Manila Pen to pick up the others. We agreed to keep each other updated from where we were. After picking up the gang at the Pen, I relay to them the info I got that there were no streets in Makati that were scheduled to be the set for any shoot. We decide to cruise by the said street to check it out just in case. Once we were convinced that the shoot wasn't gonna happen in Makati, we decided to head over to Mall of Asia. As we were speeding off to Manila, Rhanie calls and told me that they were going to head off to Makati because there was nothing there. I told her to stay there since the chances of the shoot in Makati were very slim as we saw no evidence of equipment being set-up. We met up with Marie and Rhanie near the humongous globe at the Mall and discussed what else we could do since we didnn't see anything that implicated that a shoot would happen. I manage to coaxe Rhanie to work her charm on the guards and ask for any info. As we headed off to the nearest guard house, a third car joined our merry convoy. Thinking that the guards might freak out with 3 cars asking them for some classified stuff at 5:30 AM, I decided to drop back and just let Marie and Rhannnie approach the guard house. It was so funny in the van because we could barely make out what was happening as Rhanie approached the guard. As I was the one in the front, I started giving a commentary to the rest of the people in the van with me, as to what I thought was happening through the body language of the 2. When I saw the guard look around, I told the guys that he didn't know what Rhanie was talking about. Then I saw her making gestures with her hands and assumed that she was still explaining and trying to wheedle some info.. Then I see the guard's hands to his mouth and I suddenly scream to the guys that he's radioing someone!! This could be it! Or we might be facing a couple of hours in their security office. But when I saw Rhanie running towards the car with a skip in her step, I knew she got what we came for. We followed Marie, who was speeding off like a crazed maniac (lol!), and headed for the parking building. We parked on the first level and were able to meet some people from security who were very helpful. They told us that there was a shoot near the globe and that they'll tell us when we could go down and watch. So while waiting, we all watched the Rising Sun (quite appropriate, don't you think?). The minute the security guy gave the go signal, we all speeded off to the globe, parked our vehicles and found a spot where we could stay.

At around 7:30 - 8:00 AM (I wasn't really checking the time), the Dong Bang Shin Ki coaster arrives and we all got excited and happy because it was really happening. We found them and we would see them in person!

The guys were tall (even Xiah!) and looked even better in real life. They were wearing these suits that must have been like sauna suits because the sun was sooooooo hot that day that us stalkers, who were wearing casual clothes, were sweating like pigs! And they were wearing suits! Poor boys, at least they got breaks to cool off in their coaster while we stayed under the scorching sun. Anyway, the concept of the CF was weird (for me), because I thought their costumes, and the fact that there was a fire eater on the set, would have been better if the scene was shot at night. But who am I to give the director my advice, right? lol! I was just happy to be there and saw them do some dance moves.

hmmmm.... I wonder what they were talking about? Probably:

Xiah: Guys, is my hair still ok?

Max: Ummm..... well......

Yunho: You're fussing about your hair in this heat?

Micky: I wanna take off this freaking vest.

Hero: (looking at the window behind Yunho) I look so pretty. (^_^)

Well, we didn't really expect to be able to get autographs (since I heard that their handlers were really strict), but as I told Tina, I really hoped they would at least acknowledge our presence (and the fact that they had Pinoy fans). Fortunately, they did acknowledge the group by looking and waving at us. Hero even had mirror and was using the sun to shine light on the group. The director even asked the guys to wave at the fans. All this while they were on break from the shooting. When the shoot ended, they waved at the group again, and Max even bowed (so polite!). Micky was waving through the window of the coaster as they left.

Anyway, our group started with just 12 people (and 2 parents) and by the end of the day, I think there were around 30 who were there. As we were the earliest to arrive at 6 AM, we were there for 6 hours. Except for some annoying thing that happened, all in all, I think my 4th Gasoo encounter is a memory worth keeping.

I just watched the Pilot Episode of Goong (궁) and I loved it! hehe! Methinks I will be an avid follower of this series. I can't wait to watch the 2nd episode tonight! haha!

Basically the story is from a Korean man hwa (counterpart of Japanese manga) and it's about a teenage girl who has to marry the prince of Korea all because of a promise made by the prince's grandfather (the King then) to her grandfather (who was the King's good friend). Both of them don't want to marry each other, but since they both agree to it because both have hidden agendas for the union.

My main reason why I started watching this show was because I wanted to see Yoon Eun Hye in the drama she left Xman (a Korean variety show) for. Then I saw that Kim Jung Hoon (from the group UN), will be playing Prince Yul. hehe! That sealed the deal and I just had to watch even just the first ep.

Anyway, I can't tell you guys much coz the show just started so I'll just show you a picture of the main cast:

(L-R: Joo Ji Hoon, Yoon Eun Hye, Kim Jung Hoon and Song Ji Hyun)

also, I'd like to greet my twin sisters, Ia and Ela, and advance happy birthday! hehe!! (^_^)

In a nutshell.....

Here's what's happened to me the past couple of weeks:

- On the 22nd, I received a package from Arirang. I have been waiting for my Epik High CD for a month and finally it arrived. Unfortunately, it wasn't the Epik High CD. T0T It was apparent that it got lost somewhere and that I will never get it. Anyway, turns out the package that arrived was the CD I won from Arirang's mnet contest. I hurriedly opened the package. I've been waiting for this too, since my sister Ia, received hers (Shin Hye Sung's CD, our 2nd) last week. Irony of ironies that i receive the same CD. Anyway, good thing a friend of mine wants to trade the CD. Then in the afternoon, another parcel from Korea arrived for me. The packaging was different so it couldn't be Arirang, who used regular post to send prozes. The package was from an express mailing service. I look at the sender's box and see that it's from the Korean judge who participated in the SEA Games. I hurriedly open it and find myself face to face with my 2nd Brand New album by Shinhwa. Luckilly, there was another CD, and it was a collaboration CD by Kim Jong Kook, SG Wannabe, and M to M. (^_^)

- Last December 24, some of my friends spent an early "noche buena" with me and my family: Marie, Tina unnie, Binnie, along with Tina's cousin Hugo and "companion" Sue. Days prior, I told them that Noche Buena at our house is held after the Mass (which was at 9:00 PM), so I asked them to be at our house at around 10:30 PM. Lo and behold when a knock came from the door and I found them at our doorstep at 7:30 PM. Turns out, they couldn't stay that late on the road, as the Koreans lived far away from my house, so they decided to come early. My entire family was frantic as we had just started cooking food, so that meant that the guests did not have anything to eat. Apparently my friends were expecting this so they bought ingredients to make chapjae. Anyway, all's well that ends well, as the food we were cooking, um...... got cooked, on time and everyone was able to eat to their heart's content. (^_^)

- last Dec. 26, I made plans with the other people who joined the Andy project to go to the norebang with them. Since it's been a long time since i last went there, i was uber excited. As I was pulling up my jeans, I felt this intense pain in my back that caused me to fall on to the bed. Unfortunately, my aim was getting rusty as I only managed to get my upper torso on the bed while the other half of my body was dangling from the edge. Because my legs were pulling at my back, I tried to get up but as I did, mind numbing pain was all I felt. I didn't even realize that I was screaming and that was what my family heard that sent them running to the room. My dad was able to pull the rest of me onto the bed where I spent an hour and a half sobbing and screaming in pain as I tried to change positions. Finally, I asked my dad to take me to the hospital. After asking my sisters to call up the others and tell them we weren't going to be meeting up with them, the realization of how in the world I was going to get out of the house to go the hospital struck me. Even the smallest movement that involved my back was so painful that I didn't want to leave the bed anymore. My dad called up my uncle (who is a doctor), and he in turn called for an ambulance. After 45 minutes, the paramedics were in the room assesing what could be wrong with my back. When they tried to lift me, I was in so much agony that they had to put me down on the bed again. Even the painkiller that they injected me with didn't help. So I had no choce but to to just scream out my pain as they transferred me to the stretcher. At the hospital, I again was transferred to another bed in the ER, then for my X-ray, had to be transferred to the X-ray table, then back to the bed in the ER, then finally to my bed in the room. By the end of that day, I couldn't speak anymore as I got hoarse from all the screaming I was doing and I was bone tired. Sheesh! It didn't help that the IV painkillers weren't working and that the doctors would come into the room at all hours (especially just when I was getting some shut-eye). And the doctor had to choose 2:00 AM to have the Balkan frame installed on my bed! And I'm sure, after reading what I do when I need to move, I don't need you to tell you what happened when they put me in traction and attached it to the frame. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, I was able to find some pictures on the net that would help with the imagery:

(By the way, that's not me in the photo)

Great way to spend the Christmas week, huh? My room looked like a Medievel torture chamber. Anyway, I was lucky to have been able to go home on the 29th, as I had no plans of spending the New Year in a hospital.

- Last saturday, my sisters and I were finally able to eat Soon Do Bo after craving for it for almost 2 weeks at San Sung. We were joined by Tina, Marie and Kikka's teammate Caissa. I don't know if we just had eyes too big for our stomach or because of all the side dishe being brought to our table, but we weren't able to finish all the food we ordered. Weird huh? Anyway, after dinner, which was around 7:00, we headed off to the norebang to meet up with some of the girls from the Andy project, namely Candy, Rhanie, and Gab. We sang the night away until it was 11 PM! hehe! we didn't even notice the time.

There, so now you are up to speed on what's been happening with my life.

Target: male

***8 different points****

* physically - lanky/thin guys who are taller than me; mukhang suplado pero hindi in real life; confident but not cocky
* emotionally - someone who is sensitive, caring, nurturing (are these even possible?)
* psychologically - sane; does not enjoy slashing/cutting themselves, no history of being checked in at a mental institution
