Korean day

Last week, my friend Marie invited me to meet her friend Tina. My sister Ia on the other hand asked me to accompany her in getting the 6th installment of the Harry Potter Series. I thought that we'd swing by Market! Market! at 10 Am, then pick up Marie from her house, then swing by Tina's office, then head off to My Room, which I haven't visited in almost a month. Then, Friday night, another friend of mine, Patty, texted me and asked if we could push through with our plans to eat at the Korean Restaurant I was talking about (one of my previous posts). I told her that I already made plans the next day and asked if it was ok with her, we could eat at the Korean restaurant then hit My Room (since she has never been to My Room before). She said ok and that our other friends (from the bitter barkada), Cherry (the mother of all bitterness), and Tina, would be joining us as well. I told Marie of the plan and went to sleep.

The next day, I woke up late. So Ia (who only slept for only an hour) and I hurried off to Market! Market! to buy the book and dashed off to pick Marie up. Then we headed over to Oakwood and picked up Patty, Cherry, and Tina bebe (just to distinguish her from the other Tina). Then it was off to Jin Go Gae for lunch!!!

At the restaurant, we ordered just a little: beef tenderloin, chapjae, soft tofu soup, and grilled shrimps. By the time the actual food came along, we were almost full because of the assorted side dishes we ate as appetizers. Then Marie's friend, Tina, arrives and she looks so much like Shin Eun-gyeong (the girl in My Wife is a Gangster). hehe!! We all chat for a bit then decide its time to go to My Room. We dropped Tina off at her office when I suggested to the others that we have dessert by buying ice cream at the Korean grocery I frequented. Too bad for me that there wasn't any walnut ice cream. I had to be content with the Melon bar (which was also good). :)

At My Room, I introduced the otheres to my friend Angie. While us "veterans" were chatting, the other Tina texted Marie and asked if we wanted to go to a norebang (videoke) that was near the restaurant. Ia, Marie and I decided that we wanted to go and was able to convince Angie to come with us. Patty, Cherry, and Tina bebe, asked to be dropped off at Glorietta. After taking the 3 on a tour of Makati, we said our goodbyes, and headed off to Tina's office. The 5 of us crammed into Angie's car and headed off to the norebang place. Oh man!! it was just like in the movies!! They even had the tamborines in the room. hehe!! It was soooo much fun. Tina, Marie, and Angie were great singers.

Ia (who by that time sounded like she had a frog in her throat from lack of sleep) and I pretended to be fans by chanting their names while they sang. hehe!! Then I started requesting for all these songs that I knew and I was surprised that even the new ones that were just released were already there!! anyway, after that we went back to Tina's office and had dinner with her. We ate ttobokki, ramyun, tonkatsu and meat dumplings. Needless to say, Ia and I went home pretty stuffed.

Saturday turned out to be a Korean day trip. :) well except for the Harry Potter part. (^_^)

Things that make me smile

- If there's one good thing that came out of this whole Gloriagate scandal it would be the fact that I get see Francis Escudero's gorgeous face on TV almost on a nightly basis. haha! yes, you read that right. I have been a closet Chiz Ecudero fan since I saw him on TV during the last elections, he being FPJ's spokesman and all. I even started listening to his radio show on the AM band on my way home. Unfortunately, he's rarely there because of those sessions. But anyway, all's good since I get to see and hear him on TV. haha!

- Every week I look forward to new episoded of Xmen and Love Letter, 2 Korean variety shows that my sisters and I are really addicted to. The shows feature Korean celebrities and make them do funny stuff. Like for Xmen, they are divided into 2 teams and they all compete against the other in hillarious stunts at the same time trying to figure out who the Xman is (the person who regardless of the team they are assigned to tries to do his/her best to make his/her own team lose). Games vary from obstacle races, butt pushing, tounge twisters, putting people on the spot by saying stuff they have to say yes to (whatever it may be), and to the very physical horse game where people jump on the guys' backs to make them buckle and end up losing.

Love letter on the other hand is sort of like a "dating game" between celebrities. Season 1 started with a bunch of guys competing to be the "Perfect Man" that the lone girl would choose in the end. The second season then had a bunch of girls and guys and they would all vote only 1 from the opposite sex to be the "Perfect One." Then after a couple of eps, the show changed to a free for all where everyone can be a part of a "Perfect Couple" as long as your beloved fancies you as well and a bit too scripted (but still fun).

The shows are hard to explain but if you watch one episode you will surely get hooked.

- Getting to work early. Why? Because it usually means that my boss has yet to arrive and I have a few minutes to check the deluge of forums that i joined and try to dl all the new stuff online. :)

- Eating a meal that had either Shrimps/ prawns and/or crabs. ahhhh!! gastronomical heaven!

- Seeing gasoos that i like doing doing things that are out of the ordinary from the persona they have cultivated for themselves. Like Jo Sung Mo being such a jock on TV shows, Tablo dancing (coz he's such a "serious" rap artist) etc.

- the doorbell sound of Yahoo Messenger. Because it means that a friend wants to chat with me and makes me feel "wanted." haha!!

- watching shows on Matinal Geographic. I rarely flip to this channel because I'm not much into animal documentaries, but lately I have discovered that they do have some interesting specials on Egyptian mummies, Interpol, and the Da Vinci code. Now I get to watch shows that interest me and seem like an intellectual coz they are on National Geographic. (^-^)

- staying at home all day on a weeked and just vegging out in front of the TV or the computer.

- watching marathon episodes of CSI (even the 2 spin-offs), Amazing Race, Survivor, Love Shack, Outback Jack

- watching Oprah's "My Favorite Things" episode, wherein she gives away a whole bunch of cool stuff to the lucky audience and makes me cry in anguish because I want the stuff to be given to me too!
